WELCOME TO LIVINGSTONES ROCK RANCH!
Come see what the thrill of discovery is all about, and what teachers, scout leaders and parents have all called “the best field trip in twenty years of teaching!” Whether it’s for a school field trip or for a private party, you’ll be amazed at how fun and exciting learning a field science can be, especially when you’re expected to get dirty!
There’s plenty to do at the Rock Ranch for Jr. Geologists of all ages and abilities:
- Tour our “Mining & Mineral Museum” to see some of nature’s finest artworks, including our awesome new fluorescent minerals display. Admission is $2 for adults, $1 for children six and over. Open seven days by appointment.
- Visit the Rock Ranch “Lapidary Gift Shop” where you can purchase rocks, minerals and fossils gathered from all over the world. We also carry new and used equipment to tumble, cut and polish your own stone creations. Bead and gemstone objects of art and jewelry, handcrafted by Debbie Livingstone, are available here as well. Open seven days by appointment. Call 509-270-9076 for scheduling a visit.
- Schedule a “Geo-Adventure” adventure for your next group activity or outing! Open to all ages, both the “Gem Hill” adventure and the “Thunderegg Scramble” will produce a bounty of geological treasures to take home. For group pricing, click on “Geo-Adventure” on the menu bar. Call 509-270-9076 for available dig dates or for discount pricing for pre-school and special needs groups.
- Livingstones Rock Ranch is a richly diverse natural wildlife habitat located in the Saltese Lake basin in the Spokane Valley off of South Barker Road. On any visit you may see deer, elk, quail, pheasant, moose, eagles, osprey, swans, geese, coyote, bobcat, great horned owls, wild turkey or dozens of other species.
In the first few seasons of “Geo-Adventure”, instructor/owner Steve Livingstone has led over 5000 students, teachers and parents to a new appreciation of our planet’s resources, and helped them unearth and take home more than 25,000 lbs of rocks, minerals and fossils!
